James and the Giant Peach

The main character in James and the Giant Peach is James Trotter, an orphan residing with two cruel aunts. James is miserable until he receives a bag of magic crystals that yield a gigantic peach. When the peach becomes bigger than James himself, he climbs into the fruit and rolls away! The novel then chronicles James’ life as he travels to New York City and settles in Central Park.
